“Jesus answered her, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again. But whoever drinks the water that I give him will never be thirsty again. But the water that I give him will become in him a spring of water [satisfying his thirst for God] welling up [continually flowing, bubbling within him] to eternal life.””
John 4:13-14 AMP
What are you seeking for temporary satisfaction?
When Jesus met the Samaritan woman at the well, He asked her for a drink. During their conversation, Jesus told her about the water He gives and that whoever drinks of it will never thirst again. Many of us, just like her, are looking for satisfaction, but sometimes we are looking for it from the wrong source. Worldly satisfaction will always leave us wanting more. We may feel satisfied for a moment, but eventually, we will become thirsty again. The water Jesus offers represents the gift of eternal life and the spiritual life He gives through a relationship with Him. This living water transforms us from within, creating a continual source of spiritual nourishment and fulfillment. We have to ask ourselves: What am I using to satisfy something that only God can fulfill? Temporary things will only satisfy us temporarily. We must look to the Source where our satisfaction will not be temporary, but where we can truly be filled.
