Monday’s Devotion
Theme: Don’t Sell Out
Topic: What Are You Willing to Sacrifice to Get What You Want?
Scripture: Matthew 4:8–10 “Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor. “All this I will give you,” he said, “if you will bow down and worship me.” Jesus said to him, “Away from me, Satan! For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.’
We see in this passage of Scripture that Jesus was tempted by Satan. Satan tried to offer Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory, but Jesus didn’t allow that temptation to compromise His mission. We can see this happening today. Many people are willing to sacrifice their integrity and morals for money and riches. We must understand that these things won’t last, so why fulfill temporary desires and pleasures only to lose it all? Yes, it may feel good, sound good, and look good, but that doesn’t mean it’s good for us!
Don’t allow the enemy to deceive you into thinking you’re missing out on something. Don’t fall for false promises that could cause you to lose everything. Know your worth, know who you are, and know whom you serve! We serve the great Almighty God, who knows what is best for us!
